Lightweight Cotton Bamboo Blanket for Baby Veda

Last fall, I completed knitting a blanket for baby Veda – a blanket that she received earlier this year when my mother delivered it to India.  Her mother reports that Veda likes the blanket, and I hope it is keeping her both stylish and at the perfect temperature!

Veda's blanket was my first opportunity to try the Lion Brand cotton bamboo that I ordered earlier last year.  The yarn is really a cotton keeper – not too rough like 100% cotton yarns, and very soft and bouncy.  An added bonus is also that it is machine wash and dry!

For this blanket, I turned to my favorite blanket knitting book – the Leisure Arts Our Best Baby Afghans book that I must have purchased 10 years ago (eek!)?  I chose the Pure White Pleaser pattern because it seemed like a delicate, lace pattern that would still be easy to care for with a washing machine.

I was really pleased with how the blanket turned out – great bright color and a solid pattern as well.  I can certainly see myself using this pattern again!
